Navigate to the Lifelong POS login page #

Access Settings & General Settings #

On the left hand side of the page, click on Settings then click on General Settings.

Enable Live Recounts #

Use Ctrl + F (Windows) or Command + F (Mac) to find the Live Recounts section.

Click the dropdown and select Enabled. Then scroll to the bottom and click Save.

Go to the Recounts Tab #

Click the “Recounts” tab on the left side of the page.

Create a New Recount #

Click the “New Recount” button at the top right of the page.

Name Your Inventory Count #

Click on the “Name” field and enter a title (e.g., Inventory Count 4/28/2025).

Select a Location #

Click the “Location” dropdown and select the desired location. Optionally, limit the count to specific categories.

Save the Inventory Count #

Click “Save Changes”.

Edit the New Inventory Count #

Click the pencil icon next to the newly created inventory count to edit it.

Search and Add Items #

Click on the “Type to search” field. Type the product name (e.g., “Raz”) or use a barcode scanner. Click on the item to add it. Use the dropdown arrow to add more.

Finalize Product Selections #

After adding all your products, click the dropdown arrow again to proceed.

Begin Counting Items #

Click the “Count Item(s)” button.

Enter Product Quantities #

In the “Count” field, enter the quantity of each item at the specified location.

Review Entered Counts #

This is how the page will look after entering all counts.

Save the Recount #

Click the “Save Recount” button.

View Timestamp #

You will now see a timestamp for the completed inventory count.

Review Totals Tab #

Click on the Totals tab to see expected inventory, actual counted amount, variance, and timestamp.

Check Missed Items (Optional) #

The “Missed” tab shows items that were not counted. You can update this later if needed.

Finalize in the Reconcile Tab #

The “Reconcile” tab is the final opportunity to adjust quantities and add discrepancy notes.

Complete the Recount #

Once verified, click the “Finish/Save Reconcile” button.

Review Shrinkage Summary #

A message will confirm completion. Click the “Shrinkage” tab to review detailed inventory adjustments.

Understand the Shrinkage Report #

The Shrinkage tab includes totals for quantity added, removed, changed, wholesale and retail values, and product lists.
