How To Create Charity Giveaway Donation Listings, Payment Methods and Reports #

Creating A Charity Payment Method #

2. Click on the “Settings” tab on the left hand side of the screen.

3. Click the “Payment methods” tab.

4. Click on the edit pencil icon next to one of the “Custom Payment Method” options.

5. Rename the “Method Name Field”

6. Example name: Charity / Donation Tax Write Off

7. In the “Show in Opened State (App)” and “Method Status” fields, click the dropdown menu and select Enabled.

8. Click “Save Changes”

Creating A Charity Product Listing #

9. Click on the “Items” tab on the left hand side of the screen.

10. Click the “View Categories” button

11. Click the “New Category” button.

12. In the Name field, for example, enter “Charity / Donation”.

13. Under the “Status” field click the dropdown and select the “Visible” option.

14. Click “Save Changes”

15. Click on the “Items” tab on the left hand side of the screen.

16. Click the “New Item” button.

17. In the Name field, enter a title similar to our example:

“5K Run Charity Giveaway – $100 Gift Certificate.”

18. Under “Product type” Select the “Simple” option.

19. Under “Category” Select the new “Charity / Donation” category that you created in the previous step.

20. Under “Tax Class” Select the “No tax” option.

21. In the Cost field, enter the actual cost or wholesale price of the item. For example, since we’re using a $100 gift card, you would enter $100.

22. Scroll down and click the “Save” button.

How to Checkout a Charity Product on the Lifelong POS Register #

23. Search for the newly created product in “All Products” or by its assigned category, then add it to the cart.


Once the item is in the cart, click the “Pay” button located at the top right of the screen.

24. On the checkout screen, swipe up on the left-hand side until you see the newly created payment method titled “Charity / Donation Tax Write-Off.”

25. Click on the “Order Amount” button.

26. At the top right of the screen, click the “Confirm” button.

27. The receipt screen will now appear.

Running A Charity Giveaway Report #

28. Click on the “Reports” tab on the left hand side of the screen.

29. Click the “Product Reports” button.

30. From the “Report Type” dropdown menu, select “Sales Items Report (Date Range).”

31. Under “Period Type” select the “Date range” option.

32. Under Locations, select either “All Locations” or choose a specific location from the list.

33. Under Category, select “Charity / Donation” or the category name you assigned to the item.

34. To generate a report for a specific time period, enter the desired Start Date and End Date fields.

35. Once all fields are filled out correctly, click the “Get Report” button to generate the report.

36. The report will now display the product name, category, and total cost/profit.

You can download the report in CSV, Excel, or PDF format for end-of-year tax reporting purposes.
