Creating Discounts: Cart Item / Percentage #
🎯 Cart Item Discount – Percentage Amount (One-Time Use Per Item) #
This discount applies a percentage dollar amount off each item.
Example:
If you apply a 10% off discount to a product using this method, each item in the cart will receive a 10% discount
Perfect for promotions like:
“10% off any single bottle of vape juice”
Create a New Discount Rule #
Let’s create a new discount rule using the “Cart Item / Percentage” option. Follow the step-by-step instructions below.
Navigate to Lifelong POS #
Go to https://login.lifelongpos.com/ on a web browser.
Access Items Tab #
Click on the “Items” tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
Open Price/Discount Rules #
At the top right of the screen click on “Price/Discount Rules”.
Create New Price/Discount Rule #
Click on “New Price/Discount Rule” to create a new discount.
Name Your Discount #
Click the “Name” field to type in the name of your discount.
Example: Type “Raz 10% Off”
Select Cart Item / Percentage #
Choose the “Cart Item / Percentage” option. This will allow you to set a fixed discount price for products.
Select Products for Discount #
Click the “Type to search” box under products to select the items you want to include in this discount or sale.
You can also choose Categories if you want all items in that category to get the discount. Do not select both categories and individual products at the same time.
Add Additional Products #
To add another product to the discount, click the dropdown under products and select the next item, here we are choosing another RAZ flavor.
Review Selected Products #
Once all the items are listed under products, it should look like this. To delete an item, click the X next to its name. Click the arrow when finished.
Enter Discount Amount #
Scroll down to the “Amount” field and enter the percentage off of these products.
Example: Type (10) for 10% Off
Save the Discount #
Click “Save Changes”
Customize Discount Settings #
- Days of the Week: Choose which days the discount is active.
- Hours of the Day: Set time periods (e.g. Happy Hour) for the discount.
- Start & End Dates: Specify when the discount should begin and end.
These options allow precise control of your discount availability.
POS Register Application Example #
This feature enables a percentage-based discount when specific products are added to the customer’s cart at the POS register.
Example: A 10% discount applied to qualifying items at checkout using Lifelong POS.
