Creating Discounts: Product Price / To Fixed Amount #

Made by Lifelong Support with Scribe

How This Discount Works #

This feature allows businesses to set a fixed price for a specific product, regardless of its original price. This means that when a customer adds that product to their cart, it will be sold at the predetermined fixed amount.

Example:

  • Original Product Price: $20
  • Fixed Discount Price: $15

Create a New Discount Rule #

Let’s create a new discount rule using the “Product Price / To Fixed Amount” option. Follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Navigate to the Lifelong POS Website #

Go to https://login.lifelongpos.com/ on a web browser.

Click on the “Items” Tab #

Click “Price/Discount Rules” #

Create a New Price/Discount Rule #

Name Your Discount #

Click the “Name” field and type the name of your discount. Example: “Raz $15 sale”

Select “Product Price / To Fixed Amount” #

This option allows you to set a fixed discount price for products.

Select Products for the Discount #

Use the “Type to search” box to select items or categories for the discount. Avoid selecting both categories and individual products simultaneously.

Add More Products to the Discount #

Use the dropdown under products to add additional items. Example: another RAZ flavor.

Review and Finalize the Product List #

Ensure all selected items are listed. Remove items with the X icon. Click the down arrow to finalize.

Set the Discount Amount #

Enter the fixed amount in the “Amount” field. Example: Enter 15 for a $15 sale.

Save the Discount #

Click “Save Changes” to activate the discount rule.

Customize Discount Availability #

  • Days of the Week: Choose when the discount will be active.
  • Hours of the Day: Apply discounts during specific times.
  • Start & End Dates: Schedule the start and end of the discount.

These settings help you control when the discount applies.

How Discounts Appear in the POS #

When two discounted items are added to the cart:

  • Original price displays as $20 each.
  • Discounted price appears as $15 each.
  • Total discount shown is $10.
