ID Scanning for Age Verification #
Scanner Requirements #
Alert: You must have a 2D scanner to scan IDs. Non-2D scanners cannot scan PDF417 on the back of IDs.

Please be advised that not all scanners work for every POS system.
Lifelong POS app must be updated to version 9.77 or greater. Requires a 2D scanner in SNAPI mode to scan ID.

Landi POS – Zebra DS9308 LINK
PAX E800 – NETUM C750 LINK
Enabling Settings #
Alert: Both settings must be enabled.
Navigate to Lifelong POS Login #
Go to https://login.lifelongpos.com/
Access Settings #
Click “Settings”.
General Settings #
Click “General settings”.
Validate Age Setting #
Validate Age: Select dropdown menu: Warning If not 21 year old
Customer Profile Setting #
Do Not Create Customer Profile From ID Scan (Regulations Compliance): Select dropdown menu: Enabled
Save Settings #
Slide to the bottom of the page and click Save.
Lifelong POS App #
1. Add items to the cart.
2. Click Pay at the top right-hand corner.
3. A pop-up will show: Compliant Age Check is enabled, ID scan is mandatory.
4. Scan ID using the 2D scanner (Non-2D scanners cannot scan PDF417 on the back of IDs).
Age Validation #
Once the ID is scanned, another pop-up will show: Age Validation Passed if the ID is over the age of 21.
Click around the screen to exit both pop-ups (double-click next to pop-up to make this quicker).
Completing Payment #
1. Click Pay at the top right-hand corner.
2. Click OK on the “Is Customer over 21 years of age” pop-up.
Station Logs #
Enable Station Log:
- Go to Login.lifelongpos.com
- Settings
- General Settings
- Enabled (Everything)
- Slide to the bottom of the page
- SAVE
Viewing Station Logs #
1. Go to Employees tab.
2. Click Station Logs.
3. View ID scans passed/declined.
